10月27日，基因中心在一楼会议室举行了学术报告会，会议由梅捍卫研究员主持，基因中心全体科研人员和学生准时参加了报告会。

    刘灶长研究员以核糖核酸酶基因功能（rnase）为主题与大家分享了rnase t2 genes from rice and the evolution of secretory ribonucleases in plants和overexpression of an s-like ribonuclease gene, osrns4, confers enhanced tolerance to high salinity and hyposensitivity to phytochrome-mediated light signals in rice两篇文章。重点讲述了rnase在水稻处于逆境胁迫中的作用。在读博士生郑小国围绕自己的课题，介绍了一篇题目为a naturally occurring epigenetic mutation in a gene encoding an snp-box transcription factor inhibits tomato fruit ripening文章，讲述了一个番茄突变体有关甲基化的来龙去脉。

    大家结合自身的研究领域对报告中的新技术、新方法以及如何将这些新的“idea”应用到节水抗旱稻（wdr）中展开了热烈的讨论。
